  • full name
  • email address
  • company name, if you provide it
  • area of interest you select (for example, a hydrogen sensor, a hydrogen sulphide sensor, custom development, a partnership or careers)

If you apply for a job, we collect the information in your CV or application.

2.2 Information collected when you visit the Website

The server that hosts the Website records standard technical information each time a page is requested: your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, the pages you request, the referring page, and the date and time of the request. Our hosting provider keeps these logs to run and secure the Website. We do not use them to identify individual visitors.

The Website loads its typefaces from Google Fonts. When your browser downloads them, Google receives your IP address and browser information. Google's handling of that data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.

2.3 Sensitive personal data or information

We do not ask for sensitive personal data or information as defined in Rule 3 of the SPDI Rules, such as passwords, financial information (bank account, credit card, debit card or other payment instrument details), health conditions, sexual orientation, medical records or biometric information. Please do not send it to us through the contact form or by email. If you send it without our asking, we will delete it unless we need it to respond to you or the law requires us to keep it.

3. Why we collect and how we use it

We collect and use personal information only for lawful purposes connected to our business, and only as much as those purposes need. We use it to:

  • reply to your enquiry and send you product information, quotations or technical details you have asked for
  • discuss, supply and support our gas sensors, detection systems and custom sensor development
  • manage our relationships with customers, suppliers, distributors and partners
  • assess job applications, where you have applied to us
  • operate, maintain and protect the Website, including detecting abuse and security incidents
  • meet our legal, tax, regulatory and record-keeping obligations, and establish or defend legal claims

We do not sell personal information. We do not use it for automated decision-making, and we do not send marketing emails to you unless you have asked us to or have an existing business relationship with us. You can ask us to stop at any time.

4. Consent

Giving us personal information is voluntary. You consent to the collection and use described in this policy when you submit the contact form, write to us or share your details with us. You may decline to provide information, or withdraw consent you have given, by writing to the Grievance Officer named in section 11. Withdrawal does not affect processing that took place before it. If you decline or withdraw, we may not be able to answer your enquiry or continue a business relationship with you.

5. Disclosure and sharing

We share personal information only in the situations listed below, and only as much as each one requires.

  • Service providers. Companies that host the Website, provide our email and file storage, and support our IT systems process information on our behalf. They may use it only to provide their services to us and must keep it confidential and secure.
  • Professional advisers. Our lawyers, auditors, accountants and insurers, where they need it to advise us, under duties of confidentiality.
  • Business partners you ask us to involve. For example, a distributor or system integrator handling supply or installation in your region, where you have asked for that or agreed to it.
  • Government agencies and legal requirements. Under Rule 6 of the SPDI Rules, we may disclose information without your prior consent to government agencies authorised by law to obtain it for verifying identity or for preventing, detecting, investigating, prosecuting or punishing offences, including cyber incidents, on a written request stating the purpose. We may also disclose it where a court order or law requires it.
  • Corporate transactions. If Hythane is involved in a merger, acquisition, investment, financing or sale of assets, information may be shared with the parties and their advisers under confidentiality obligations, and may transfer to a successor that agrees to protect it as this policy describes.

Anyone who receives personal information from us is not permitted to disclose it further except as allowed above.

6. Transfers outside India

Some of our service providers, such as email and cloud hosting providers, may store or process information on servers outside India. Under Rule 7 of the SPDI Rules, we transfer information only to providers that maintain at least the level of data protection that this policy and Indian law require, and only where the transfer is needed to perform our contract or arrangement with you or you have consented to it.

7. Cookies

The Website does not set cookies and does not use analytics, advertising or tracking tools. Google Fonts, described in section 2.2, may receive technical information when your browser loads the typefaces. If we add cookies or analytics in future, we will update this section and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent first.

8. How long we keep it

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purpose we collected it for, or as long as the law requires. In general:

  • enquiries that do not lead to a business relationship: up to 24 months after our last contact
  • customer, supplier and partner records: for the length of the relationship and up to 8 years after it ends, to meet accounting, tax and legal requirements
  • job applications that do not lead to employment: up to 12 months
  • server logs: as set by our hosting provider, normally no more than 90 days

After these periods we delete the information or anonymise it.

9. Your rights

  • stop using your information, by withdrawing consent as described in section 4
  • stop sending you product updates or other communications

To make a request, write to the Grievance Officer in section 11. We may ask you to confirm your identity before we act. We will respond within one month of receiving your request.

10. Reasonable security practices

We protect personal information with reasonable security practices and procedures as required by Rule 8 of the SPDI Rules, proportionate to the nature of the information and our business. These include:

  • encrypting traffic between your browser and the Website using HTTPS (TLS)
  • limiting access to personal information to employees who need it to do their work, under confidentiality obligations
  • protecting company email and storage accounts with strong passwords and two-factor authentication
  • choosing reputable service providers and binding them to confidentiality and security obligations
  • keeping our systems and software updated and reviewing our security measures periodically and after any incident

No method of transmission or storage is fully secure. If we learn of a security breach affecting your personal information, we will act to contain it, notify you where appropriate, and report it to CERT-In or other authorities as the law requires.
